What if we are the Butterfly?
Poem: by Atum O’kane
“Deeply rooted in this present moment,
Seeing with a clear, open, spacious mind,
Beyond doubt and fear,
Abiding in the luminous heart of equanimity,
The ‘way’ unfolds before me.”
Beloved,
Heart of my heart, soul of my soul, I open to you. God, Yahwey, Jeshua, Sarah, Mary. Quan Yin, Buddha, Baha’ullah, Mohamad, all the voices of the truth of one being and one presence. I open to you now and in each moment.
I know you as the essence of my breath, as the song of the birds, as the light of the sun as the wet of the rain … as everything and the space that is nothing. I know you as fullness and emptiness. I know you as sorrow and joy. I know you in the eyes that I see in the mirror as I dive deeper in my gaze within, deeper, beyond physical self-perceptions, into the essence of being. “I see you” means, I see the One and infinite being in and as me and all beings.
Yes, and in this knowing, I love and cherish each person, each being that I encounter; the trees, the leaves the flowers, the petals. How could it not be so. All life is the infinite, never ending, expression of the breath of the one. The deeper I know and understand this truth, the more my love grows, until I know that is all that I am.
I choose love in each moment. I choose peace in each moment. I choose to remember this is who I am, in each moment. I do not need to aspire to this in some future day of awakening. This awakening is now, and happens in each moment, as my identity returns to its source.
I welcome looking at any false truths that I have with love, and gently brushing away all that veils remembrance of my true nature as love, as peace, as light.
Standing in this simple, tender and powerful awareness, I know that even in those moments that seem so dark, that I come home to you Beloved Oneness, home to the truth of who I AM, and know that I am held in an eternal, divine, and infinite embrace.
In the quiet, I ponder on this precious life with joy; I know that all that is mine to do and be in this life, in this world, flows from simply knowing who I truly am.
It is a deep peace to know that I know this.
In sweetest gratitude, Amen.
