Is That Transcendence Calling?

Is that Transcendence Calling?

Blowing through heaven and earth, and in our hearts and the heart of every living thing, is a gigantic breath—a great Cry—which we call God.

– Nikos Kazantzakis

In the Talmud, there is a phrase that reads, Every blade of grass has its angel that bends over it and whispers, ‘Grow, grow.’ The Apostle Paul named the essential urge he felt as “the upward call of God.”

By whatever name, whether conscious or not, every one of us, every living thing is subject to the universal force that initiates growth, adaptation, the drive toward ever greater complexity and capacity. The common name for it is evolution. While it is most commonly thought of as a physical phenomenon it is most certainly a metaphysical process that involves consciousness. As consciousness evolves one becomes increasingly aware of one’s own being. This is the spiritual milieu where growth and unfoldment are measured in terms of self-awareness.

For the next 3 weeks, our topics will center around the evolution of consciousness, as we draw in part from the fine text, Birthing A Greater Reality, A Guide for Conscious Evolution by Robert Brumet.

This week we focus on the Call. Callings are not just for great heroes and sheroes of legendary greatness. Every one of us is called. Our call may show up disguised as dissatisfaction, malaise, or discontent for life until we recognize that it is an inner urge to explore life beyond what we currently think is possible. This often scares us and we are likely to reject these inklings at first. Or, we may categorize these feelings as the caprice of the ego and write them off. However, if this urge persists despite our attempts to deny its validity we can know this is the real deal; a mandate of the soul; a divine calling. It is the soul's call to realize more of itself through our human journey.

Join us this Sunday at Unity in the Olympics (* via Zoom live - use this link ) as we look at how we can discern the evolutionary call and embrace the greater possibility for life to which it leads us.

Peace and blessings,
